Thread: Create blog for every niche which pops in mind?

Hello Guys,

I'm newbie, a totally newbie. So please be kind, I try to follow the rules.

I have several websites where I do some tests and to see whats the result after all.

My question is: I'm bit creative and nearly all 2 weeks I have a new idea for a niche which I check with google adwords tool and it could be something.

But I have like 3 blogs where I keep my eyes on.

The hard part is actually to set it up, register accounts for onlywire and do this basic stuff, writing 1-2 articles per week isn't a probem at all.

So my first question is: Is it a good idea to create blogs for niches where I think this could work well or would you keep focused on 3-4 blogs for a year and check out then?

My second question is: As I've mentioned above, I have got like 3-4 blogs already running. 3 are online since january 2011 and still I get 10-25 visitors a day.

The other blog, which I have since last octobre (2010) got nearly no attention and before going into more trouble I want to check if things work well and if this is the usual case or road of a new website. All domains are completely new! I get like every week 2-4 visitors more.

One Website which I tried to target to "make homemade wine" is make-homemade-wine.net but gets no visitors at all.

I'd be really happy if you can give me some feedback and helpful ideas, because it's bit frustrating for me ;-) and maybe I'm doing a fundamental mistake.

Blogs need to be updated regularly. At least 3 posts a week at start and later after when you have like 100 post you need to do at least one post a week. Also you need to build Back links for blogs too. Now Google is more focus on quality content, you need to add unique content too.

So if you have 100+ blogs Do you think you can keep doing this ?

How many posts do you have in this blog about "make homemade wine" ? Also these blogs are WP blogs hosted on your own TLDs or blogspot blogs ?

I have 4 wordpress blogs (own separate domains, using urls for seo) and I'll start with the blog I'm running out of ideas:

make-homemade-wine.net:
- 1-3 visitors a week
- up since octobre 2010
- posts: 9 / pages: 5
- backlinks: forum profiles & article sites (=> approx 15 backlinks)
- SERP: I dont find my site and in google webmasters tools it does not show any relevance make homemade wine linked to my website. pity
- Content written by india (outsourced, because I've no clue about this topic at all)
- Update frequency: Once a month, I did it in the beginning twice a week but I didnt get the expected results so I was annoyed and just left it, maybe it would become better I thought. (approx 1 article in 1-2 months)

Blog about internet marketing:
- 15-30 visitors a day
- up since january 2011
- posts: 26 / pages: 3
- backlinks: wordpress comments, forum profiles, social bookmarking, rss directories
- keyword "earning money on the internet" (but in german!), SERP: Page 5, first entry
- Content written by me, unique. Approx 4 Videos released on youtube, dailymotion etc.
- Update frequency: once a week (1 new article per week)

Blog about online dating advices:
- 12-30 visitors a day
- up since january 2011
- posts: 21 / pages: 2
- backlinks: wordpress comments, forum profiles, social bookmarking, rss directories
- keyword "online dating" (but in german!), SERP: Page 3-4 (position dancing bit around)
- Content written by me, unique. 1 video released on youtube, dailymotion etc.
- Update frequency: once a week (1 new article per week)

Blog about dog obedience:
- 4-12 visitors a day
- up since january 2011
- posts: 13 / pages: 2
- backlinks: wordpress comments, forum profiles, social bookmarking, rss directories
- keyword "dog obedience advices" (but in german!), SERP: Page 4-5 (position dancing bit around)
- Content written by an expert friend and using some text writing services. I'm an affiliate of a german shop and I have just copy 'n pasted the products to fill it a bit and when I enter the title in google I'm usually higher than the source shop where I'm affiliate at. Just did some basic seo like, h1, h2, and optimized internal anchor linking.
- Update frequency: once a week (3 new article per week, usually about dog products sometimes between about dog obedience advices)

I would really appreciate if you can give me any further advices how to boost it or am I just impatient and I just need to wait and work harder? ;-)

Is it because the domains are brand new and I need google trust ,which means waiting for at least one year?

No I dont want 100+ Blogs, but I thought my chances of finally earning some money would be better if I had like 6-8 blogs. Because some topics work better and easier than others. Am I wrong? You tell me please ;-)

You are ranking on the wine site, but you aren't on the first page for any of the main keywords. If you want to sell it, let me know. I need a new project.

I think those things will depends on your earning goals too. You will be fine with AdSense and IM blog. But for other 3 niches I don't think AdSense can be effective. Amazon and ClickBank books will be better for wine blog and dog training blog. For dating blog you need to find another network which has lot of dating site offers.

Do you use plugins like seo all in one and Google sitemap ? These helps a lot. Main thing is keep adding content. blogs need content to be regularly updated and added.

You need to choose the method you feel better with. If you don't like to create content then having 10 blogs would be hard. So you can focus on your current blogs and make more blogs when you start earning money from these. Be careful when you are picking niches because not all niches works for everyone. Pick those which has a demand as well as you are comfortable with.

For "make homemade wine" you ranked in second page of Google.com. If you have more content you can move to the first page. Also more content means traffic from more keywords. Find PLR articles about wine and rewritten those and post.

Thanks for the information. I will work with my 3 blogs then until january and try to optimize them as much as possible and provide the visitors interesting information. I plan to do affiliate marketing on all of them. I have for the dating niche already a lot of affiliate partners and they provide me sometimes their full course in order to write about.

I dont use Google Sitemap but will install it today. All in one seo I'm using on all blogs

I guess I just need to add more relevant content and I will be soon on SEPR Position 1.

I think the traffic is on the low side!

Learn to do keyword research. Only when you have found some good keywords do you go into a niche.

In regards to the Amazon vs. the affiliate program that you are currently using question it all depends on conversions, your income goals as someone stated earlier, and profit margins. Amazon is great because they offer a multitude of products that you can get paid from. They will also pay you for anything that is brought from their site by a user that you sent (if they buy a computer with your cookies on their browser you will make a commission).
As for your question about having to scale up and build more blogs... the answer to that question can only really be answered by you. When considering income goals , if you want to make some serious cash you will have to "sail your ship in deep waters" (or, go after niches with a lot of buyers, and large payouts). Your are not going to become rich promoting affiliate programs in these really small niche markets. You will have to pick niches where people are accustomed to spending large amounts of money, and the affiliate programs offer large payouts. If for example, you find affiliate programs with payouts of 30 to 100 dollars that sell moderately well it will only take a handful of sites to make some life changing cash.
Finally, You are going to have to test some things out once you have a clear goal in mind, and once you find something that produces money for you, you are going to have to do a lot more promotion. All of you efforts should be focused on promoting the pages that make you money. (by promotion I mean: bookmarking, blog commenting, profile linking, article marketing, etc.)

You're going the right way. You can create more niche blogs, but do not forget you need time to promote them and create backlinks. Not only to build them.

It is easy to be tempted to start a lot of sites when you have many ideas. And some people are successful with tons of mini sites. However, you can do very well with just a handful of sites. With fewer sites,you can focus on driving tons of traffic and promoting them. You can also make more money driving traffic to just a few sites than being all over the place with multiple sites. So I would suggest you start with just a few sites and then make a decision.

You are already on page 2 so do some backlinking and try and get onto page 1.
You should then get more traffic and hopefully more conversions.

If you get more traffic but are not happy with the conversions swap to promoting something else.

If you get to page 1 but the traffic doesn't improve much then build out the site with more content to try and catch more of the long tail traffic.

in my personal view.. i think you need to make more backlinks and contents. More backlinks mean, quality backlinks that can boost your ranking. Contents mean, unique quality content.. if your combine all these and still not get better revenue, i think you should change your niche, BUT if your page manage to be first page and first rank in Google, i think there's no doubt you can get more revenue

It's not a big deal since vine site is not the only site you have. Make more sites. and Keep building back links for all sites and add quality content regularly.

this method is good if someone can do it properly. I prefer to have few sites and do this .

i would recomend you work on wine site great potentail.
