very important with respect to internal backlinking. I would recomend to use YARP plugin

I am using Yoast Wordpress SEO plugin to create robots.txt file for spiders, robots and feeds. You can use it and it is also very good for SEO point of view. For database backup plugin, there are different plugins over there. I am using automatic wordpress backup plugin for this purpose. There are few more like iDrive, WPDB backup, VaultPress and many more. You can use any of them according to your setting.
