I hear profile links are of limited value. Maybe they give a little link love while they are brand new. But most webmaster delete them if the person does not continue to participate in the website activity.

Profile links have always been great for me. Just create the profile, sign off to make sure you can view the link without being signed on then ping the links! You have to mix things up get a variety of links going.
