Thread: My trick for linkbuilding with profile links!

I want to give you a tip on how your profile links are not immediately deleted by the admins of any forum!

Do you know that? You create profiles for hours on high PR forums / communities such as .edu and .gov forums! And after a day or two you notice that your account has been deleted to the forum. And the URL to your profile is no longer available! Your account has been deleted because it was too obvious that you were just on backlink hunting.

My trick: While creating a profile on an edu-page , I initially put a link to a topic-relevant university page of my country!
For example: If I register an account on a site with the topic "geology" (something like: forum.geology.site.edu /register /etc ...), then I look for a geology page at a German University (https*://portal.uni-freiburg.de/geologie..) and I put this link in the field "Website". In the field "Occupation" I put something like "post doc at the geological departement Universität Freiburg bla bla... When the moderators check the list of new members at the next morning, you can be sure that your profiles are not considered as spam!

Then I wait a few weeks until I'm outside the list of new members. If my profile is disappeared between all the other profiles, then I start to place my proper links.
I've tried this already a few times, and so far it has always worked really well!

What is your strategy to avoid deleting your profile?

There is a another easy way...

Create an edu or gov email... there are some sites where you can create an university email account.
Register on that site...
Dont insert any links...
after 1 week you can insert a link..

I've been looking everywhere for an edu or gov email-adress! But I've found no way to get one. Can you tell me where I can get such an email-adress?

Great tips here! But will our links not be removed if they find out? I will give it a try. Also, do you get some good ranking on SERPs by doing this?

I admit that some of edu/gov forum got his eye on new members's profile..but in a way you show it to us, that really takes time...

Seo and backlinkbuilding always takes some time, buddy - if you do not use expensive automated tools! It's annoying when you have wasted a lot of time for creating profiles and these are then deleted by the admins! That's why I prefer to use this trick - and my work not for nothing.

To my curiously software has helped me in some cases, but always combined with manual sending. I agree with that the most important thing is to account for the time, be patient and choose where to place the link to not waste resources.

IBP is the perfect tool for this, a combination of auto and manual profile forum !

Whats the best way to find edu forums?

The best way is to scrape the web and search for the best keywords related to "edu forums". I created a google alert with the keywords "edu and gov forums" and sometimes I get something interesting...

i look for edu and gov email too, if seobunny can give a link...

profile links don't carry much weight. Also every forum admin hate getting spammed just like any blog owner. If the forums you create profiles is active one then sooner or later your links will be deleted. I delete all zero post profiles with links and signatures in my forums. I'm sure Nemanja do same here and every other forum admin. Works with dead forums though.

When I hear profile links I get in ban mode. I'm a super moderator on a large webmaster forum and we tend to see people doing profile link building and even though they try hard to not give out hints, we ban them when we put 2 and 2 together.

Posting useless posts to get a signature or to increase your post count to sell your signature will get moderators upset and edge closer to banning or dishing out a final warning. If you register on forums, don't create duplicate accounts, have 1 account and post quality posts that are well thought out. You will get members clicking on your signature by the quality of your posts. Yes, members will be curious about your website because you are acting like a professional and providing good advice on the forum.
