How should I know if registration in link directories really up to date? What is Google’s attitude on that?
Is there any free automatic/semi-automatic link registration services in directories?
Are there any special blog directories?
Thanks in advance

Well once you get registered or listed in directories you don’t need to worry about getting an update. You can simply put your URL in the directory search box and it will let you know whether you have been listed or rejected.
Google is always fine as long as you are listed in authentic directories as only authority websites/directories gives you benefit of backlinks.
Yes there are automatic link registration services but i would like to warn you against them as you might land up getting listed in junk directories which is no importance to Google.
Certain special blog directories are
-Technorati
-Spillbean
-Blogflux

Directories hold less SEO value today than they used to because a lot of them are heavily spammed--if you do submit to a lot of directories make sure they are quality ones.

Quality always beet Quantity thats what i have learnt in last 2 years working in SEO/SEM . Work with only High pr & dofollow websites.

Some directories sends a mail when the link submitted are live. Else search in that directories.
Its better not to relay on any type automatic link registration.
