It seems that getting listed in DMOZ is a jackpot in terms of backlinks from high pr sources because a lot of search engines get their content from it.
Does anyone have any tricks or tips to get listed or listed faster?
Thanks

If you search on the web the general consensus is - submit it to the relevant category and forget about it. Might take a month, a year or may never get in.
I submitted my blog to DMOZ before 6 months but never got any reply from them..
Hello there.
Same ok thank you I just wanted to know if any of you had special tricks but I guess we are all the same in front of dmoz

the major problem with it all editors are volunteers and some categrgories do not have an editor or they dont do much in approving and some are very picky what they think should be allowed
all you can do is make sure you submit to the proprer cat and make sure your title and des are not spammy and keyword stuffed etc then forget about it never submit again at least for a year.
or as rain22 added become an editor, even thats virtually impossible though
dmoz wont alert you when accepted nor will they give you a reason for rejection.
a lot of se's get the results from dmoz but tbh against google, yahoo and bing they only account for a tiny percent of traffic probably less then 1% overall so if you site shows in the major se's dont worry about dmoz too much
one thing i would say unless you dont have a clue how to submit a site is pay someone to submit your site they cant guarentee anything unless they are a corrupt editor lol ( no accusation or implication meant to dmoz's staffs integrity )
I also noticed that most sites have at least PR1 in DMOZ so if your site is new then it's very unlikely to get in.
I have to agree with apexglm. DMOZ uses volunteer editors and it can seriously take time to get into their directory. Something else I also noticed is that when you submit and you don't fill in all the submission details in properly, the editors will have to visit your site and form their own conclusions, which can almost never be good for a site. The best thing to do is to have every detail carefully planned out before you submit to them. If your site is either categorized incorrectly, or your site description is edited incorrectly, your entire SEO campaign will be damaged and you would have to start from scratch.
