Thread: You can consider this great search engine

I just came across this great little SE:
DuckDuckGo

It is great and simple, like google use to be

I really like it and I like the fact that there are people who are willing to "fight" with BIG dogs...,
so we MUST give them a chance and at least try it

I loved Google too in the past very much, but as time passes I like it less and less,
because it is monopolist and owned by many companies , so different interests are now in the first plan...

I will try and test these new SEs in the future and will try not to rely on the G in my searches...

It seems nice and simple really. But the main question is how accurate, relevant results you get on these SEs.
However it would be nice if G has some real competitions...

Soon every search engine might have more accurate results that google, because as I already said they are owned by many companies and these companies want their share, also many different interests are involved, etc. which are finality influencing so called "organic" results,
this new penguin update just confirms this, that little guy is screwed and big companies are awarded.

I know that it is next to impossible for newcomers to overtook google or bing or yahoo, but you never know what will happen

Anyhow you just give it a try and test it out for a few days and see which is better.

Ive been using this for a couple months now... It's awesome... The bad thing, in terms of their eventual growth, is that they rely on g, b, and y indexes for their results because they don't hae enough historical data, supposedly... So if the big 3 didn't let their bots in, then it'll be duckduckno... But I like it and have found the same outcomes as admin regarding accuracy. I see it as G when it was just a baby with no share holders to please... I especially admire their stand on privacy...

I have played around with it and it seems more accurate when you search for something, rather than having a ton of non related things to sift through with other engines.

Yes. I have a KW on #1 page of G but nowhere on DDG.
