Do we really need to consider amount of content change? Will it give effect on SEO as well as ranking? i mean what is the best ratio of old pages to newpages?

Yes it will change it a lot, if you add a lot of content it's going to make it go up as well.. When you say SEO it's a big word because it depends.. It will help pull up your site in Google so for a long answer short it's a yes... Most peoples ratio page is a secert and even if I knew mine I would tell you but I dont even have one LOL.

No idea really, but I regularly delete very old posts from my blog for example.
There are thousands of posts on my blog, so the oldest stuff probably doesn't get read anyway...
The more content a website has, the slower a site becomes to load up, which IS bad for ranking.

Although old post show invalid information, but it is great for inter linking. Some old page have great PR and backlink, simply delete could causing unwanted broken link. By keeping old post, it help me to analysis my view, evolution of my personal growing on article writing.
