Thread: how many links per page ?

I'm sure everyone here have seen various seo experts and articles says there should be less than 100 links per page. So this 100 links limit include both external and internal links or only out bound links ?

So Google doesn't consider its spam if there are 100 links in a page without a reason.

Think about products on an ecommerce site. Many good sites have more than 100 products on one page.

The number of links on a page depends on how big the page is how. How much other content is on the page. It is all about if the are dofollow are nofollow and if the links match the topic of the site. make it look like a natraul site not a link farm

One SEO expert said that you got to update your website 1 page in 1 week.. its gonna be a lot after some time, but you got to figure out what pages you need.

For me i only care about outbound link...to much OBL on certain pages can make google think twice which links more important, however i never try to reduce my internal link because i think google will crawl more if i don't remove internal links

Hi,

The thing with Matt Cutts and especially Google, is you have to read between the lines or listen to what they don't say. 100 outbound links from a page is not considered spam! But if those 100 links from a page are to sales pages (affiliate links) then mother Google is not going to be happy I'm afraid.

I agree. They don't really mind the outgoing links, but they do worry if they go to sites that are sale pages or what they consider low quality or spam sites. It can damage a site/page's authority and leave you with an enormous traffic drop (if not worse)

Yes you should not put more than 100 link which includes inbound and outbound.

Internal links are the limit of hundred probably. external depends on your need.

This is the first time i am reading about this... I think there is alot for me to learn from this thread..

well, thank u for giving answer's link about links amount per page from Matt Cutts..

It's all about internal links and as far as outbound links it depends upon the necessity.

if its internal links, i do maximum of three. you can add links to any pages as long as you want to optimized that page as well.

Having as low as much you can keep the links on your web page as much beneficial for your web page and for the links you are placing because you place too many links then links juice gets divided.
