Wikipedia always linking there keywords internal...
or just watch this official Blogs from Google:

Why we need to linking internal???
Cause we need to send the robots to your other sites of your blog or websites... and with anchortext linking you can give google the right target.
Dont forget to...
linking in the right way... so even when you linking your keywords to the related pages or post you must add an Title-Tag in the HMTL Code... here is an Example:
Standard linking (not good):
Code:<a href="http://www.your-other-site.com/other-sites/">Keyword or related Keywords</a>
Linking with Title-Tag (very good):
Code:<a href="http://www.your-other-site.com/other-sites/" Title="Keyword or related Keywords">Keyword or related Keywords</a>
Try not to write ‘click here’ as anchor because that tells the search engine nothing when it crawls your site.
So how do I find the most related post or site for the keywords???
Its very easy but every Webmaster has an different way to find the related post or site...
Me I do this:
I go to Google
and type in the Search Form
site:www.your-site.com Keyword
See this example:
The benefits of internal links on your website
When internal links are done properly, the search engine will pick up on the links on your page and realize that you have ‘additional’ information related to red snakes.
What I try to do is to find all of the relevant pages on this blog and link them together. It’s a lot of work and a pain in the butt, but it is worth the effort.
At the bottom of this page you will see the additional links.
I promise you that you will be smiling when you see your website on Google’s first page. Adding the internal links also adds relevant content to your current page without you having to write any more content.
So you will giving your other sites more LINK JUICE...
for example watch this pictures...
Internal links can help you if you want to make your website more SEO friendly.
This linkbuilding how to video will explain why internal links are important to search engines when they crawl your website.
One of the things that a search engine does when it arrives at your site is to look at all of the links on your page to index them and rank them for your keywords.
Internal links can also be considered a back linking strategy because the search engines will see them as backlinks, or to put it better, the search engines will see them as one of the stronger backlinks to a site.
One of the best examples of how strong internal links can be is Wikipedia. Almost every page on that website has more links to other pages. Wikipedia ranks very well on many keywords so this should be a good example for us.
The video also examines Wikipedia’s internal linking strategy as a link building how to.
Yes you can...
create some other undersites (subsites) and interlink them together and link also with your target Keyword to your Landing Page.
See this Examples:
Example A - Small web site - Flat linking structure
The Domain Index links directly to every page, and every page links directly to the Domain Index.
Intra-subject linking can be used for similar topics, so that visitors can easily find related subject pages.
This linking scheme becomes impractical when the site page count goes above 100 or so.
This linking structure is suitable for web sites with 200 pages or less.
Example B - Large web site - Pyramid Structure
The Domain Index links to distributed sub-indices, which in turn link to the subject files.
The subject pages also link back to their respective sub-indices, which emphasizes the Subject Indices.
This linking scheme gives extra Page Rank to the Subject Indices.
Once again, subject-wide linking can be used for similar topics.
This linking structure is suitable for web sites with 200 to 1,000 pages.
Example C - Large web site - Pyramid Plus Tunnels Structure
Again, the Domain Index links to distributed sub-indices, which in turn link to the subject files.
The "Subject Z" pages are also linked to directly from the Domain Index page, as an additional option.
The subject pages can also link back to their respective sub-indices, but that is not shown here.
This linking scheme gives extra Page Rank to the Domain Index page.
Once again, subject-wide linking can be used for related topics.
This linking structure is suitable for web sites with 200 to 1,000 pages.
Example D - VERY Large web site - Large Pyramid Structure
Again, the Domain Index links to distributed sub-indices, which in turn link to other sub-indices, then to the subject files.
The subject pages can also link back to the Domain Index (not shown), as well as their respective sub-indices.
It can be difficult to get Tier 3 pages indexed by the spiders.
Subject-wide linking can be used for related topics (not shown).
This linking structure is suitable for web sites with 10,000 pages and up.
