    Selecting keyword

I am deciding upon how to select keyword especially when it comes to rank it high later.

I use Google Trends to decide on choosing my keyword. I want to know about this "While selecting keywords, should I choose those that are highly searched or those that have low search value".

You should choose keywords that have high search volume and low competition, so that with little effort, you can make it to the first page of Google.

So you mean the selected keyword should have low competition but however the search should be high. Like this there will be no problem in ranking the keyword later.

    Really cool for your advices.

Yes that's right....If you are able to select keywords that has low competition buy high search then you will get benefited from both side. For low competition you can rank your keywords with according small work and on the other side you will get huge traffic while the keyword has high search volume.

Be careful with this! A true golden keyword/phrase is a buying keyword with a high number of searches and low competition. The whole (IM) world is searching for those golden keywords. If you see a keyword with high/low you need to ask yourself why there is limited competition for the keyword. While there are golden keywords out there, more often than not when you find a keyword with very low competition there is a reason. Sometimes it is because the keyword will only draw tire kickers (people searching for information) and not buyers. It is often better to go for words with medium competition even though you will have to work harder to rank for the word or phrase. Medium competition probably means that some people are finding success with the word.

I am paying attention to what you are saying.

Let's say the keyword I selected is "web tips". When I use adwords I can see that it has a Low Competition with Global Monthly Searches - 49500. So it is not reliable to use

You just have to think about the selected keyword/phrase. Is someone that uses that keyword/phrase in a search just looking for information or are they trying to make a buying decision. For instance, someone searching for "web hosting" may be just doing research or looking for information about hosting. Someone searching for "best web hosting" may still be looking for information or trying to decide where to host a site. Someone searching for "best web hosting price" is probably in the immediate market to buy web hosting.

Let's say someone is looking for "web tip and tricks" then what will be the keyword related to it.

"Web Tips", "Web Tips and Tricks", or "Tips and Tricks" might be keywords that you would hope to rank for. The problem would be to monetize keywords like these. These are informational keywords. They could draw visitors to your site, but those visitors would primarily be looking for information. With any traffic you will get an occasional click on an ad on your site. If you offer a good newsletter you may be able to build a mailing list. You may also be able to sell some products like Internet Security suites and utility programs if you can build a desire for those in your visitors. If you do a good job with a newsletter you may get a good open rate and have opportunity to offer products to your readers (make an offer only after you have given them something of value).

Hmmm all what you said is totally out of my mind. I did not really know about all these. Therefore I should be careful while selecting my keywords. Keywords selected must be good for monetizing. Right? But I do not know how to choose keyword that will be easy to monetize.

When evaluating a keyword try to think what you would be looking for if you typed the keyword into a search box. If you would search for that keyword looking for information about it like how to do something it is an informational keyword. If you would search for the keyword to solve a problem then you might be open to buy a solution to that problem and the keyword would be a buying keyword.

Google trends isn't the best tool, it shows trends = the most popular keywords which usually are general keywords not specific keywords.

Ideally use a paid keyword tool to find long tail more specific keywords. General keywords are also called non buyers keywords, it's those who are just searching Google for info, long tail on the other hand they're zooming in and with the mindset of buying, optining and taking some action instead of just researching.

go for high search only as if you are going for high search than you will get many low search volume keywords as free gift which will come as alternative ..

Google keyword tool is ALREADY ENOUGH when searching for the right keywords in your niche.

A lot of people knows google keyword tool but doesn't know how to properly use it.

When using the tool choose the 'exact' option rather than the 'broad' option in the left side.

That way when you search for keywords it gives accurate results. Now search for keywords or LONG TAIL keywords (preferably) with high search volume and has low competition.

That's it, now go find the right keywords. right keywords = gold mine

You should choose your keywords with the competition of keywords and priority of keywords...mainly you have to look at once Local Searches compare to Global Searches, first you concentrate on Local Search, because which gives exact region to target your business.
