I'm curious to know if some of you have optimized one word keyword.
Please let me know if you have optimized it and what kind of difficulties you faced while optimizing it?

Short tail keywords are very difficult to optimize... because they are very broad and competitive.
Moreover, rankings for short tail keywords fluctuate a lot. Your competitors are working with equal vigour to grab the top rankings.

Yeah, Short keywords are very difficult to rank in SERP's. Many directory submission sites don't allow single word as title. I think we can create more and more contextual links for that particular keyword by article submission, blogging etc. It will help to gain top ranking in SERP's for sure.
I think it’s not worth, because:
- Take too much time and you need to spend a lot of money
- Single keywords isn’t buying keywords
If targeting long tail keywords is already great for earn decent money, why go for single keyword?
Optimizing a one word keyword is just as similar as chewing an iron gram. It takes lot of time and practice. But once success then very easy to get rank with relative keywords. Ex: Suppose you get rank on SEO keyword at position 2 or 3 then you will be around on SEO services, SEO company etc....

It is not an easy job to rank a single keyword because competitively long tail keywords are easy to rank and you can even rank these keywords rapidly. I personally never rank a single keyword yet.
