Thread: Getting started with email marketing

Hi members,

I want start digging into a new email marketing campaign. I'm new to this field but I know little about how can I collect good number of targeted emails.

For the starting phase, I've planned to giveaway my eBook which I sold here at IMT. The number of sales it received was really great, but I'm not sure if it's good to offer my eBook as a gift to my new subscriber.*

So I want to know offering my eBook would be good or not.

Would it work out? How should I offer it and how can I get started?

I've also planned it to let people know that I'm offering the eBook for free through some targeted source.

Want to hear answer/suggestion/idea from you guys

If you decide to give away your ebook for free to collect list, you can not continue to sell the ebook (if you are still selling). For collecting quality emails, you write a different ebook also.

I would Make like a "teaser" free ebook which will also have nice and valuable information for free, but I wouldn't spill the beans in it, that I would offer in paid version of the ebook.
Also you can pre-create 7-14 or what ever course...etc...there are really many things you can offer for free and get people to sign up.

Start a give away on your blog and give only limited copies of your ebook like 10 lucky winners will get free this way you can collect a good amount of emails and also can continue selling your ebook

Thanks everyone! I've decided to giveaway an PLR eBook instead of my own eBook. Now I'm in the phase of building targeted list. I'll experiment few things and will see how it goes

The magic spot is between how unique that information is and the value of it. If you train your subscribers to get stuff for free from early on, it's hard to sell to them afterwards. So I would not give something paid for free. Actually, I would ask them $0.01 to subscribe, just for the sake of changing the status quo.

Email marketing also called direct marketing. A businessman can inform its customers by individually mailing in a brief manner. E-mail marketing is no more much expensive, a small scale businessman can promote business and site at the same time. A owner have direct content with customers and get possible feedback.
