    Bad ways of e-mail marketing

I know that some people frown upon e-mail marketing, but I for one don't have a problem with it. The problem I do have with it, is that people abuse it by finding people's e-mails and sharing them in lists so that people can advertise to said list of e-mails. I think the proper way to do e-mail marketing is to get people to sign up for a mailing list, or opt in that is.

What are other bad ways of e-mail marketing that could ruin ones business and just annoy people more?

    A) Sending to the list too frequently.
    B) Not giving some quality content, only a sales letter.
    C) Not targeting your list well enough. If you are in multiple niches you need multiple lists.

    Don't buy mailing lists

Buing email list is the worst thing you can do on email marketing. Those are useless addresses and it’s a waste of money to buy them and sending them newsletters is just pointless.

Sales letter can be effective and it is a part of e-mail marketing. But it all depends from the offer which you are trying to sell by email. If the offer is good, if the campaign is good and if the email is nice and email database is well prepared - it isn't bad way of email marketing, it is a effective one.

If I get on a list and all I see are sales letters I soon send emails from that marketer directly to the spam folder, but your definition of a sales letter may be different than mine.
