Smile How to get people on your list to take action...

    Hello Everyone,

Having people on your list is great but it does no good unless those people take action.

In your emails you need to get them used to clicking on links to take them to webpages, get free gifts, articles, etc…

This is important especially when you want to sell something to your list.

If they are used to taking action then this is just another factor that will help conversion ratios.

Also, you want to make sure you don't make things looked cluttered. Make sure your message is clear and to the point.

Next, don't give your list to many options on what to do. Studies show that if you give too many options people end up doing nothing.

We all get a lot of emails everyday. Some we read, some we mark for later, and others we delete.

If you know your audience, give valuable information, and make it easy for them to understand what to do then this will really help your conversion ratios.

Of course, there is so much more to this but hope this little bit helps!

Please share your thoughts, comments, tips, etc...

    Thank You,

    Kevin

As far as email marketing is involved, I consider that the biggest advantage is to cut through the clutter. You can write informative, interesting, exciting emails but these are usually not read. What makes them read? The subject line and the first two lines. If these two elements caught my attention, then there is a good chance to go until the end. However, when most emails look like spam or scream "advertising" it's hard not to click the "mark as spam" or delete button.

I love email marketing. My biggest suggestions are to...

    1. Give great advice and only sell part of the time 80 advice/20 sell - Just my personal opinion and I hardly get labeled as SPAM
    2. Let your members get to know you Send them to pages with your face and videos on them a.k.a. build trust. Without trust they will be less likely to buy. The key here is to let them see you in some way.
    3. Get off the promotional band wagon i.e. when everyone in your niche is promoting the exact same offer via email, stay away.
    4. Be unique in your mailing, stand out but injecting your own personality. This also means it's time to ditch the cookie cutter subject lines and emails.
    5. Be open and honest in your dealings via email. If you lie, over hype or manipulate people will see through it.
    6. Whenever possible send people to your own pages that have social feedback (Twitter, Facebook). Doing this builds social trust, authority and will give people a chance to interact with you.
    7. If you don't want to be on video at least record some podcasts, webinars, or MP3s for your list. It doesn't matter if you're just sharing your story on these, but let them hear you. Giving people multiple media with you on this will build more trust and will show people your personality more. The more personable you can get the better chance of closing a sale at some point.
    8. Don't be afraid to sell. I know I mentioned giving above but at some point your list needs to make you money too. So you will have to promote. What I've noticed is that sometimes when people start giving a lot, they start forgetting to promote things too. Do both and everyone is happy Again 80/20 or possibly 70/30.

If you wat to learn how to write killer subject lines and construct killer emails join the FOOL email list. They are in the stock market industry but man... those people know how to write compelling copy.

This is just my 2 cents from my own personal experiences with mail marketing.

Same here... Ask yourself "would I open that?"

I agree.... that's a great question to ask..."Ask yourself "would I open that?" Put yourself in the reader's shoe. It's also a good idea to look at emails that caught your eye and identifying why it caught your eye. I like to keep records of those emails to help me structure future ones.

I agree with the free advice. I agree with advice 80% selling 20% of the time. I have found also if you need to boost sales purchase the rights to an ebook (maybe off ebay) then give free copies of the ebook during a "weekend promotion" it has worked for me in the past!

email marketing is one of the oldest form of marketing yet still very much effective, with this method you only target people that are interested in your niche or inch or what you sell but the only draw back is how to really gather a huge date base of email list

Sometimes bigger isn't better, I'd much rather have a small list of interested people than send to tons who just delete

Yes I get loads of emails everyday, infact when i give out my email address I use one email address just for IM, so i know all the emails are probable marketing ones.

I have another email address for marketers I have done bussiness wtih and trust.
I judge this on past transactions and if the thing I bought does what was claimed and what suppot was like if needed.
It only then they imgrate to my trusted list and i generally look at all there emails.

So trust and not constantly bugging me with every offer under the sun is what I find important, yea i think 80/20 is about right.

I'm on so many IM mailing lists it's hard to sift through the noise, which is 90% of my emails. The way to get my personal attention is to provide a case study, review, test, etc instead of saying "buy x" which is what most will do. It's cliche but provide value and the money will come whether through trust / affiliate marketing, or providing new innovative products.
