    Facebook Ads?

Alright a while back I was looking to promote my Gaming forums and I had a free like $50 dollar card from my hosting company and I figured I would give it a shot. I found that it was an absolute terrible method of advertising a site. You get to choose who is viewing your ads (based on what they like) and you would think that doing that would help. But it didnt. I had like 30,000 impressions and 3 clicks. And then I had no new users on my site. I think thats pathetic for $50. Anybody here had luck with that?

I really didn't quite get your question. Would you please elaborate a bit on what the question or the problem is? 30,000 impressions and 3 clicks that's a pretty bad ratio!

You mean to say you have used FB ads for traffic but you didn't get a single from there? Well my friend advertising in social networks or any other big sites doesn't means you'll get high percentage of traffic, you don't have to be sure that you'll gain some traffic. Its about the site, if your ads looks good, attractive, eye catching and the same is your site is then 101% you'll get a permanent traffic from those ads.

What are you on about? You dont think that spending $50 dollars on advertising should get you more than 3 clicks? I do which is why I think Facebook ads are not good. My ad was as good as they can get. And Facebook ads cant really have images.

Yes of course facebook ads worth the shot, but it is really though to have your ads approved and to maintain a high CTR. If you were 30k impressions and 3 clicks it means that your ad was really really bad, and dont think submitting 1 ad and see some results, you should have at least 20 variations of your ad for each offer and I said "at least". Some guys do 100s before they find a winner but once they find it it makes you money like crazy.
So is FB really worth? Sure it does, but it's not easy.

I think Facebook ads do not work for all niches. Search engine traffic is good because visitors you get has a real interest in your niche. But from Social networks those visitors you receive are random people who might have find your ad is catchy. I used That $50 voucher and result was pretty disappointing.

Recently I noticed some new sites have some luck with Facebook. They seems to put ads with twisted titles and provocative photos to get people click. Some of these sites have no adSense ads than in good content so users exists the site clicking on AdSense ad which they might find interesting. So it might work for these site owners.
