Thread: (Not) A new method to sell digital products

I have an idea to sell some digital products and like to hear your opinion.

I wrote a paypal IPN script for selling digital goods with a donation price. I think i setup some pages and i leave it to the customers to determine the selling price itself.

So the customer can see the product and decide if he pay $1 or more dollars for it.

What do you think about that idea?

In my view the majority of the customers will go for $1 if you leave it to them to determine. Better add a start price of $2 and the max the customers wants to pay will be upon them. I think $2 will not be a problem to pay.

I think i can limit the minimum fee. Perhaps there a customers who pay more than $1 or $2 ... I dont know

I tried voluntary payment for an offer I sent out at this time last year. I didn't get one cent. I got a nasty letter from a law enforcement official (my offer had to do with home mortgages). I would like to believe people are good, kind and generous. Maybe not.

do ppl really ever donate? it's like create a website and ask for a donation to a charity thing for ppl.
