So do you ever flip sites?

For those of you who dont know what flipping is it's just like a house you buy it for as cheap as you can then you spend a little money as you can to get it worth more money..

I tried flipping one site and I kinda succeed I bought it for like $10 and but $20 into it and sold it for like $50 but that is weak because it should be like a couple hundred dollar profit but that takes some time and I didn't have time on that flip.

Actually, you can multiply the monthly revenue from a website by 8 - 10 and that's what you can sell it for.
If it's auction based you'll probably get more for it even.

What's stopping me from doing this actively is the immense amount of SEO work I'd have to do.
Niche sites with adsnese or other ad revenue do very well...

I never really got into the site flipping game. I have sold plenty of websites in the past that I parted with to raise money for other projects (three of them which I sold in the low 4 figures and a bundle of two that sold for close to $800). Much easier for me to do it periodically. For those who are constantly building and flipping sites, you've got to keep working to keep up the levels of income. I'm more about creating passive income than anything. Nothing better than having an army of sites that make $50 to $100 a month and require less than an hour of maintenance per site, per month.

In every job you must put your focus and your time, so I think it's better to point to your passions and create something about them.

Yes, it is not a not an easy process. But there is one good point in it- you become your own boss. Being your own boss means that you can work whatever hours you choose, whether you prefer to work early morning or evenings, it is completely up to you. Flipping websites for a business will allow you to do that.

A lot of people make a lot of money flipping sites. But as with anything you need to know what you are doing, and to get to that point you will need to research and learn a lot through trial and error. Once you find the winning formula, it becomes all about scaling your operation.

Web flipping is a great business for those who can take the pains to build great website even with wordpress you are ok. But one thing i have discovered is that you will need to drive organic traffic to such a site and meaning you need to do lots of SEO work.

Site flipping right now is very risky, especially post penguin. Right now Google is a mess, as they are ranking poor sites high, and good sites low. I you choose to flip site or buy sites, you really have to know what you are doing.

After the Google update, you'd have to check into the site with more details, is it still getting the same results as it was BEFORE the update, where do most backlinks come from, try to track the owner via Google and maybe you'll see him on some forums , so you can check if he actually uses good SEO Services, if he's experienced in SEO etc, just 1 small idea.

This is great advice. If you are currently not very experienced with recognizing legit sites, it is better to wait before getting into site flipping now as most of the sites going up for sale now are actually Penguin update victims. Some hide it better than others, so you should generally be wary.

I have not do this flipping business, but I want to try it in the future. The idea behind site flipping is build high traffic sites or high income sites and then sell it. Because we can make big cash and never confuse with the SERP of the site anymore. You know that Big G always rolling its algo.

I agree with you although i prefere doing both. The passive income is nice but this would leave you with only 1 income source (or more if you are using different ad networks,...) having an army of sites that make $50 to $100 and selling those that do 20$ for 200-400 is even better

Flipping website is the art of buying website cheap and selling them for higher price. Some people are lazy to develop their website and promote, for them ready-made website is a good solution.

Yeah, i saw some dumb sites flipping for over 1000$ on flippa and i felt those sites are not even worth of 100$
