The website is just a 'clone' of the original. May not be that great for backlinks as its very new and have no real authority!!

May there have some similarity but also have a big difference that currently pinterest is invite based. Users can not register with pinterest until anyone invite him to join with pinterest

Yes I know its fairly new and clone of Pintrest... 1 thing that I noticed and you didn't is how fast its back-links are getting indexed.. instead if making back-link use it to index your links...!!! its tested and working !!!

Yup, even facebook and twitter can be used to register easily
