Is it your own site? I think grammar is wrong in some lines. The title of your one of your menu is "Become our Membership", I think it should be "Become our Members" or "Get our Membership". You can take advice of others and if you feel it is wrong then please correct it.

Are there any specific guidelines regarding what type of content should I post? If you can create a "Write for Us" page on your site then users like me will not need to ask.
