Other Forums Can't Compete to IMT...

A little rant, if you don't mind. I'm from the UK but live in SE Asia, and have clients from all over the world. I love to work with Americans and Germans as I honestly feel I can categorise them both into the honest, friendly, genuine types of people. Obviously, there will be bad eggs amongst them, but for the most part they are great.

Now then, when it comes to working with fellow Brits, I find them rude, obnoxious, cheat you out of money, want the Earth for not much money, and plain old [insert swearwords of your choice]. I've just joined a forum to sell my services. I paid the money £30 and listed a job and was called an idiot and I didn't understand link building......errrr, hold up a second.

I work and have worked for the top SEO companies in the UK. I don't know everything about SEO but when I have proof that my link building techniques work and want to sell some expertise to people, I don't expect to be called names, especially if I offer a money back guarantee.

They (the British) think that if they have a .co.uk that ONLY two-way links from other co.uk links are worthwhile....err no. They have signatures with their sites in them and one guy has 900 links but all are off the forum signature!!! which are worthless. No diversity, no high authority (not high PR as I don't think PR counts as much these days) and thought my views on guest blogging were stupid and retarded!!! Can you believe it?!?!? Guest blogging is ONE of the best ways to get good links. Of course there are many other ways, but as a writer, guest blogging is something I can relate to.

I have a site that is an exact match domain, has a few AA .edu links and a few other random nofollow links, and guess what #1. The guy's site has 900 links and he is aiming for keywords that have 5 search hits a month....OMG....I hope he doesn't have a family to feed!!

Sorry for the long post. In short - I really like IMT - the people are nice and give good advice and if there's any disagreement in opinions (which is what SEO is all about really), then there are explanations and discussions, not petty bitching sessions.

    That's all. Rant over.

I think you would find people like that all over, and not just from one specific area. I guess, in a way it depends on how you deal with these people in the end. Sometimes, I know, they do their best to make you feel that your service isn't worth much, but I put that down to a few basic principles.

People have always "teased" in one form or another, they have always lashed out. Sometimes its because they feel threatened, sometimes they feel that their way is the right way, and anyone wanting to change that way is a threat. Sometimes they are jealous because a new person is invading their territory with an idea they never really thought of, and because they have been dominating a certain area, they feel your contribution isn't necessary and will find ways to try run you off.

While I do believe that its wrong, I don't think any of us have the power to change human nature. What we do have control of is how we deal with them. Being the bigger person and ignoring them, unless they purposefully sabotage your threads could work, and then reporting the offending people if all else fails. Administration and moderators alike will not be allowed to ignore that, and would then have to deal with these people.

All true. Nice reply After 10 'bigger man' posts from me, I finally cracked and threw back some home truths, and strangely enough, there's been no replies for a whole day now. Maybe they were testing the 'newbie' on the forum?

Problem solved You just don't need to lower yourself to their levels. You won't feel good about your achievements if you had to resort to that.
