Thread: Youtube video control.

I have mentioned that we are going to add videos to youtube etc. but I am scared of a few things.
Can you control who leaves messages on your videos? LOL its a silly question, I know, but I'm worried about the messages I would get if I uploaded a video. My boss specifically wants me to do these because of my voice, but I am worried about getting lewd comments and remarks.

Is there a way I can control this?

As far as I know you can close comments.
Also don't forget to post youtube videos here in appropriate section.

you want to see the videos as well ? ok, as soon as they are released I will add them here. I'm glad I can close comments. The last thing I need is my boss blushing because someone cannot control their fingers

I would love to see them, but also I'm thinking of many newbies here, they would be of great help to them...

I will set em up as soon as they're done. Will add a note or two as to how we did it, what we decided to focus on, stuff like that, that could help others that want to do promotional videos, but aren't sure how? It will be trial and error for the most part as well, but I think it will work out ok in the end

Just a small update. my boss wants us to leave comments enabled. sheesh, is it safe to be scared now? He did mention though, that if the comments become too bad, then we can disable them in future videos...... but Im still scared witless.

You should be able to delete comments on your own video. It means you have to keep moderating it though.

I hope so. I have seen a few comments people leave on videos, and to be honest, I would like to keep it clean, it is a business channel after all. Thank you for the info.

You can also block individual users if they become a persistent problem. If your videos get a large enough audience then the more mature minded viewers will moderate the scumball commenters, too.

I have set it so that the users cannot comment directly, in other words, I have to approve comments before they show on the page. Would this stop people from looking at the video because their comments won't show up immediately?
