Never host your website in justhost.com,see my story...

Hi,

It is bad luck to me to host my website chronic-disease-management dot com in justhost dot com.
Two days ago,I found my site inaccessible & open a support ticket to justhost dot com support center,
requesting them to restore all my website files. However,it seems that justhost dot com dont have any backup files
of my site & couldnt do anything. Very unluckily,I dont have any backup files also.

This website had been up for more than one year. It took me more than two weeks time to develop!!!

In conclusion,justhost dot com is very careless & irresponsible.It didnt do backup for you & didnt
say anything regret for their careless & irresponsiblity.

There will be no further business between me & justhost dot com.

Hi Miroslava,

My PC had been upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 & everything was deleted during the upgrade.
Please check a older backup & restore.

Why all the files are lost ?
Please explain.

Hi Tony,

Unfortunately we do not have older backups of your account so we cannot retrieve the files.
I didn't find any FTP logs for chronic-disease-management.com domain so the files were not deleted via FTP.

Hi Tony,

I've checked all of the possible logs and didn't find any for chronic-disease-management.com website.
There are no FTP logs,so you didn't upload anything there, there are no access logs,so it was not visited.
Which software did you use to create the site for chronic-disease-management.com ?

sorry to hear about your story.. i think it is better for you in the future to backup all your files manually or by using backup plugin,

Its also your job to make backups.
Its recommend to save your files at every new update of your website.

Im very sorry for that... all your content were gone :(

I had to learn my lesson the hard way in a similiar situation, never too much fun losing everything. I back-up all my files now, that is for sure.

I agree with what seoBunny said.

We have to keep our backup, doesn't matter whatever your hosting company promises. None of big hosting companies grantee about backups thought they promote they will backup regularly. You will find it in their TOS.

Usually people learn this hard way. I did too.

Justhost has restored my website files & the website is accessible now !!!
Is it a bit late after I had posted this event in several forums & my facebook wall ?

It's luck I think. Don't count on this coz it won't happen everytime. Do your own backups from now on.

What backup method or plugin is good? Especially for wordpress.

first method, you just need to subscribe yourself in feedburner, but that's no good way, maybe just good for content :)
but for full backup you just can use wp-db-backup (just search at wordpress.org)
maybe there are another method or the best plugin you can use, if someone know please tell here

If you use cpanel hosting there is a backup utility available. You can backup your root directory and your databases with the utility. It will download the backup to your computer.

I always use Control Panel to make my backups, and my host utlizes R1Soft backup system which is excellent!

I allways keep a backup of every file/article/picture on my computer, and never on my C drive :)
I try not to use unknown hosting services. And I can't find any reason for doing that since a bigger and well established host has the best price for the best quality services. Oh... there is only one reason for using an unknown host, when I desperately need my site to be hosted in a specific area on the globe :)

If you don't have a second physical drive you can create a partition on your drive. The partition becomes a virtual drive and is treated the same as a second physical drive by the OS. Then if you need to reinstall/upgrade the OS your data drive or partition is not touched in the process.

There are several ways. You can set a Cron job so backup will happen automatically everyday. There is a Wordpress plugin which backup your Database daily (trying to remember the name).

Usually everytime I update theme or upgrade WP script I take a FTP backup.

How to set the cron job? i never try it before... due to i solely depend on wp plugin backup.Which one the best or i just stick to the plugin :)

i'am use wp-backup every week and month, just in case, if something like that happens ..

I too learned it the hard way and I keep backups of all my valuable data. I never used the company you describe here but its always better to have a backup.

Well, you could have still retrieved the content on your site by going to google and typing

cache:http://www.yoursite.com

This will show what Google has in its cache memory, but you need to be fast, usually it's gone after 2-3 weeks after your site went down.

Yes this hosting server is very bad CPU speed is very slow specially for wordpress sites and account suspended every day
