More years of registration mean more google trust?

i don't know it is myth or not, but some said if you register the domain for multiple years, google will look into whois, and will give some value for your website because of longer period registration.. it means you are really serious to your business or running your blog/website

is it true or not? or just myth

I do know that Google adds more value to a site that has been around for a few years. The domain receives a certain authority based on how long its been online, above and beyond any back links etc. (IMHO)

i read somewhere about this issue, maybe it just myth or misconception, but if logic, even though you are registered for many years, for example 5 years. it is not sure yet you will be online for 5 years perfectly.. you know sometimes people just over curious about something that seem not obviously logic

It seems logical to me though. If a site has been around for a few years, Look at youtube and IMT for instance, They would have a higher authority than another forum or video sharing site simply because they have been around longer.

Domain age has emerged an extremely important aspect of search engine optimisation (SEO) - the fourth most important factor according to a recent SEOmoz.org poll of SEO experts to determine the most influential components of successful SEO. In their assessment they defined domain age as not the date of original registration of the domain, but rather the launch of indexable content seen by the search engines. This can change if a domain switches ownership.
The longer your domain has been online the better
This is a good read, trust me. The rest is here : SEO Consult

    Hope it helps

I believe this is true and that it even effects rankings in the SERP's. I believe this based on studying one of my competitors webpages that is consistently at #1 or #2 for a fairly popular(around 100,000 monthly searches) medium competition keyword that barely had any backlinks pointing to it. The keyword only appeared in their title and once on the entire page at the very top and wasn't inside of h1 tags. There wasn't too much content on the page. Maybe around 250 words at most. The only 2 things that really stood out I could think of that could effect their ranking is that their domain is over 10 years old and that the page is attached to a domain with a 6 PR even though the page itself has none.

aged domain with content and have good online history for the previous years (i mean not always break down) is the best to described for that... but sometimes i know some people just buy the domain name for multiple years and kept it, not ever online it, is that give some value too?
