Do you believe you need to have a .com or .net domain to rank well in Google search and in other search engines ? Does .com gets priority in Google and yahoo search ?
How does the tld effect search engine optimization.

From what I've read (including the google's own blog), all domains are treated equal by google, in spite of all the rumors floating around.
This is what I believe too. I use lot of .info keyword domains and they rank pretty well.
But in in Google local search results ccTLD's get priority which is logical.
I like to see other side of the story too. From who believe .coms have better value in SEO.
i don't think so, all domain extensions are the same for search engines, but people are more familiar with .com , so its better. Thats why everyone trying to get a .com domain first, if not available they go for .org .net or .info at last.
what everyone has said so far is true from my experience.
However, this is the part where localized rankings may become important. Meaning that if you want rankings in certain parts of the world you may need to consider what language the site is written in and choose a domain with an appropriate extension.
.de for Germany.
I have many German clients and when marketing to them in the German language I believe it is better to choose a .de extension.
I also say this because the Internet and the economy have become a global thing. Because it takes so long to achieve competitive search terms... You need to think in the future and about who your future customers will be.
I never thought Germans would be 80% of one of my businesses... Yet there they are and I never expected them.
Yes. Ever since Google has launched their localized search sites ccTLD domains has become more popular. Interesting thing is this is one point where Google gives more value to the domain even content. In pass some of my TLDs couldn't pass ccTLDs with very little content. I was able to at end but it was not easy. But I think Google should have change this by now.
But when it comes to Google.com, anyone noticed .us sites rank top in result ?
All the domain extensions are same for search engines. In my experience I saw many .info or else .com sites have same IP, so try to get links from different IP based domain. That will help to rank for your keywords.
last i year i still remember i read somehwhere on the net said that .info can easily get hacked..so i don't buy .info domain, i don't know whether is right or wrong, maybe just speculation spread around
As far as I know there is no reason that any domain name could be hacked more easily. It is the server on which the domain resides and any scripts used on the sites that have dangers of being hacked.

Not true. I have no idea how something would write something like that. Don't take all those stuff in articles as truth. There aren't a single logical reason a site can be hacked because of TLD. Main reasons for sites get hacked are outdated CMS and login info misplacement or using too simple passwords.
TLD = Top Level Domains
eg : .com, .net, .org, .info
.com and .net domains have more reselling value. But equal in SEO. So if .com is available then it's good to get it or .net. Since .info are cheap this TLD get abused by spammers.
I would think your potential customers would have more confidence in a .com business than a .info - so if there is no SEO difference then go for the .com version.
Ok
There is no difference seo wise but traffic wise it is very important the .net,.org and .com exstions are way more trustworthy and people dont trust .info in general because they are not used a lot.
its not true... just a myth...
