Plesk is generally free or nulled. Cpanel is at least 30$ a month.
My choice is cpanel but its expensive.

I don't care about control panels much as long as the server is working and not overloaded :)
But about updates and migration , performance ?
I prefer CPanel, I have never used Plesk.
I like plesk because it offer a self administrating and identical multi-platform design that enables to perfectly manage the shared hosting environment.
You can have many awesome features with is very useful using cPanel.
Most web hosting providers use cPanel and I can say that the site owners like it a lot. Because it's very user friendly.
I'm with Nemanja on this one, no idea what I would need cPanel or Plesk for. :)
I too much prefer cPanel. Perhaps due to the fact that I got use to working with it over time;)
I preferred cPanel. It offers FTP access to a website so as to upload files. It is an extremely essential feature for managing a website. Moreover, if the website owner needs the cPanel also allows to register new FTP accounts in order to enable other people to access the website.
I like cPanel because I'm soo used to it. I use it with one of my high end VPS. For other vps i use Kloxo which is free and lot like cPanel.
cpannel because its easy to use (user friendly) :P
Definitely cPanel for me. I just find it easier to use.
Also Plesk is not free. Even paid version has limit in number of users you can add to single copy. So if you are running a VPS and want a paid control panel then using Cpannel is cheaper and also it would be more practical since most users ask for Cpanel.
Cpanel is much more better than Plesk.
