32bit or 64bit

Would any one like to mention please what is the major difference between the 32 bit or 64 bit operating system. Because yesterday i was downloading the Joomla Templates from the Website Templates. During the downloading this application is not opening due to 64 bit operating system error. So how can i resolve this Issue.

Well the difference between 64/32bit is the bus width in the hardware, 64 bit carries larger packages than 32 bits. also 64bit systems are capable of managing more then 6gb of ram.

that said, there are some problems with 32 bit software working on a 64bit system, only thing I can say is to hope of an update.

but you are talking about a joomla template? this should not cause problems, could you tell me what template, maybe I could try it, I have both a 32 and 64 bit computer at work.
