Thread: How to avoid sharing info with Softwares Owners

I hope you will be feeling quite well. I have some problem with cookies. I am using softwares that require login details to access the panel of software. But I have heard the software send cookies or some kinda info to the software servers etc and by this they can track me easily.. Is that true? If yes what will be prevention measures to avoid sharing my info with them?

It depends on if they are commercial softwares or not. It's the method of some commercial softwares to require callbacks to a server to validate the ownership of the software.
Most professional softwares that do this only collect a very small amount of data, such as the calling site and any license information associated with it. Others who release free software may collect more information or have bad intent.

There's nothing you can do about it besides not use the software or modify the software code where ever a callout can be found.

Developers use php's CURL and file_get_contents to send and retrieve information from a remote location.
