does having a link to google on your homepage help SEPR. i know they don't really need a backlink from me, but if i was a search engine i would look favorably upon it. has anyone tried it?

If you are trying to rank for keywords like "search engine" a link to google.com might help, since it is an authority (in the area of search engines) and linking to authorities increases your status as a hub.

But no, there is no boost in rankings, simply because you place a link to google.

I am 100% agreed with you Pronos, you are just giving support to Google but getting any benefit from it.

That would be like the government giving money to people who vote for them

Linking to Google give s the website the opportunity to become popular and more visible in search engine.

Only good quality inbound links will improve your site search engine rankings.

Linking to Google won't help you but linking from it will have a huge impact on rankings but again unfortunately you can't get this as they don't provide direct links to websites.

It would be counted only one link if you link to Google, there is no extra benefit, I have also heard that participation in Google+ would help in ranking but it is not so, if all people started doing this then what would be?
