Yes Google has punished domains less than 12 months old trying to do things to quick. After a domain is 10-12 months old more quality links can be added

Home Page Back Links, they are the most powerful backlink you can achieve, because the OBL is low especially if its a PR5+

What does "KW" stand for?

I think link building should be done naturally . Use some good resources & tools to finds links & you should create them. The only BIG BIG difficulty is how to index this backlinks. People Make 1000's of backlinks but if they are not indexed by google then they are of no use.

you should not index anything like Google find it naturally

So it's really okay to do article submissions blasting your actual site with up to 500 links in only the second week of the site's life? I thought that would be too early to start ramping up linking to that degree...

I think 10 still might be too much, maybe 5 a week, but each article you should social bookmark, and link build them.

I totally agree with you. Social bookmarking submission and directories submission won't hurt your ranking. And you can index and rank your website normally by working on this way.

Nice, people should really stop spamming new sites. Wait at least one year before going heavy on the backlinks.
