I found two interesting blogs from Jonathan Ledger. One focuses on making the links you build count and the other (which links into the second) is about how links are still a huge ranking factor in google's algo's.
Just because a page exists on the web doesn't mean that Google will automatically add the page to their index. For sites that are very popular, and have a huge number of incoming links, it's a safe bet that any pages you have on those sites are being indexed and your links counted. You can read the two posts here: James Ledger and here James ledger blog.Through all of the updates, the May Days, the Farmers, the Pandas and on and on, many of the sites I have built -- and other sites that I monitor -- continue to rank well for their keywords.
That's because, despite everything you may have heard, and everything Google would like you to think, ranking in Google is still all about the links.
Maybe it will help calm a few fears about all the changes Google are making, and give us all some good advice on how to make the perfect back link. Any thoughts? read through the posts and tell me what you think.
