A question about Google Bots, I just don't get it.

    Can anyone answer this?
For a while now on a typical day I get about 2,500 hits to my website. After I start getting into where the visitors are coming from and trying to break down the analytics it seems that 2,300 are bots mostly google bots and after all is said and done from those 2,500 hits really came down to 47 unique IPs and 87 page views.

Why is this happening and why does it seems that these Google Bots are practically living on my site?

    Anyone????

If you've checked and know 100% they are Google bots then I wouldn't worry. I guess your checking your stats via server side. To be honest I don't even consider those figures anything near to what I would class as a "real" visit. I just use Google Analytics, they have a strict counter, but I would rather believe that then over inflated stats from crawlers and bots.

    try Nemanja solutonons http://www.imtalk.org/f19/5191-bad-b...tion-here.html

or sort bots by IPs. personally I dont think gbot will scrape Your website with this frequency, but if Your site is a huge(>1K static pages) and not optymised -googlebot waterfal is possible when easly solution is adding sitemap and breadcrumps
