    Different Browsers, Different Google Positions?

Im a bit confused. Im tracking a keyword in Google, my website postition 2 days ago was page 17.
This morning i check it, we have moved up to page 12. Obviously I was very happy.

Ive just got in and checked it again out of habit. I am now on page 1, pos 6.
By now I'm ecstatic, so I check and double check across 3 browsers. Chrome, Safari and Firefox.

In Chrome and Safari we are page 1, but on Firefox we are back on page 12.

Now this to me isn't the Google Dance, so why such different results on the different browsers??
Ive deleted the cache, I've not got any Google Plus's and I'm not logged into any Gmail.

Google results vary from Browser to browser sometime...

Even from same Ip address this happens, and if you query same string multiple times you will see different results on same browser and same computers, this happens because of Google cloud network, different browsers may hit hit different Google server and can give you a different result each time

If Google results vary from browser to browser, that means extra work! We should then focus on browser friendly SEO too?

This makes sense, however I've just logged into my Windows machine on the same network, and its now page 12, so that must be its true position.

Its like the query is cached in Safari, but even if i empty the history and cache, Safari still shows me on page 1.

Can everyone just use Safari from now on please.

I never check my rankings manual with browser and google.
I use tools because I will loose a lot of time when I check every keyword manunally.

I recommend this tool to make it all a little bit easier: http://www.imtalk.org/f42/5854-imt-s...mtalk-org.html

    Thankyou Bunny.

I already use this tool and its very useful but it only shows the top 100 places, so its no help when you are trying to find your site outside the top 10 pages.

For manual searching I have just found - http://www.scroogle.org/ - Click the scroogle scraper and select it to show 100 results.

It shows your true position as Google doesn't drop a cookie in your browser, so repeated searches appear anonymous instead of from the same IP.

I experienced the same thing but i don't really care since the position difference between browsers isn't too far.
Now, i even prefer to check my web position using tool provided by seo book. It has been a long time since my manual checking via browser.
