Thread: Google+ and +1 button

Now you can publish your favorites within your Google+ network by +1 button.

What do you think about this merging ?

There were a lot of misgivings when the +1 button was still in its infancy. Now I see websites I use placing the Google Plus button on their websites. I guess it will be a factor in SERPs now. Probably going to be exploited and abused as hell though.

how come you know that +1 would be exploited for websites? i didn't get your point.

Google is still refining the +1 button at this point. It is already being abused and exploited and for the most part Google is smashing bot +1's to hell. My advice right now is stick to community +1s, do not buy at this point as they will most likely be wiped. Wait till the dust settles a bit.

It's certianly going to affect the SERPs. I think its going to be used by the audience to indicate quality content and authority sites. This is where quality content not plays a vital part in ranking. It is getting abused, there are a lot of sites out there where you gain points in exchange for +1's. Most of them are full of bots however, hopefully this will be rectified to Google rework it and have some sort of filtering system.
