    Google +1 ?

So, Google is now copying from others website. Google has started a social business, is this right to say social business, called as Google +1.. Now clicking on this button you can recommend this or that website or article to your friends or to the world, right?

Then how did I come to the point that Google is copying, I said because Twitter is tweeting, Facebook "Likes" and Google Is now +1..lol..

Its another method of publishing or advertising the company(google)..

What do you guys think about Google +1???

    Share it!!

It definitely is very similar to the rest of them you noted (twitter & facebook, etc) but then again, there are hundreds of social media platforms that have been created off of the same stem. It's just that google is so widely used/known that it will come up much faster than the hundreds of others.

I think it is an interesting prospect though since they have their hands in just about everything..interesting and a bit scary

Google trying to match with Facebook I think. I guess Google is already worrying about growth of Facebook and one day they might taken over the search engine market too. I didn't Google mention this +1 button effect PR or anything so it's nothing but copycat attempt of FB's like it button.

But Facebook is not Yahoo, it would be very hard for Google to leave Facebook behind, it is day by day increasing.

Yahoo was defeated because it was older than Google and Google came with new technique and defeated Yahoo.

Facebook is also doing the same thing, Facebook is newer to Google, and it has come with new technique to be number one in what it is offering.

Remember that the core of Google's business ond revenue is search and it PPC advertising. Google have entered the social media space to try to create more opportunities for it's core search model. Yes it is in direct competition in a way to Facebook, but Facebook and Google are not primarily the same "business model" because they are both going about their business differently. They both make the bulk of their revenue off of advertising but both do it in a different way. Facebook have also monetised their platform through other things like Facebook credits which are used by their gaming "partners" like Zynga. Now if Facebook were to enter the search market as has been suggested in another thread recently then there would be a no holds barred battle between two of the biggest tech companies in the world.

Social "suggestions" is an emerging searchable market and the amount of information Facebook has on all of us allows them to target specific demographics extremely easily and effectively. That is something that Google is lacking in and is trying to strengthen through +1 and Google Profiles. The thing that Google has already though is the majority of the search market throughout the world and they will be extremely hard to topple off of the top of this market. If they can strengthen this with more personal information and profiles on us all then they will be unbeatable for a very long time to come.

I do not think Google would be very pleased with the "dominant" when anxious not to accumulate all user data from Facebook, and only the best or those willing to succumb to their demands to be shared.

So I really do not see Google launches desktop independent Web site (outside of Orkut) to dominate Facebook. Go to a defensive posture, in competition with Bing and other search engines that are ready to succumb to demands for Facebook to have to consolidate a position in social space.
