Thread: PR and manual intervention

Some thought has been in the back of my mind for a while.

When google assigns PR to a site is there any manual intervention. (like some one actually looking at the site) ?

I think not, but when google spam team with M. Cutts in the head of that team receives some spam report for particular website/webpage they can investigate that website and make manual changes to its current status at google, considering google PR also...

The main benefit of PR I see is in selling links on your site or when you want to sell your domain name of your website then it is beneficial, otherwise it is useless.

No, it is totally assigned by the algorithm. Since PR is assigned to the individual pages and there will be more than million and million of pages in Google's index. And manual intervention of individual page is next to impossible.
