my page rank is 3, my page rank is 1 what is this?

can anybody tell me what is that and can i give it my self or google or yahoo will give this or any other else?

A Page Rank, is where your website is on a google (or any other search engine) search for the keywords typed in the search bar.
Its the most important goal for any internet marketer or SEO or webmaster, because having your page display on page one, is what drives more traffic to you than if you were say on page 10. A common rule used now days is that anything beyond a page rank of page 3, is no good because you won't get as much traffic to your site and you would if you were on the coveted first page.

For instance, if you have a company site that sells soap, your SEO team would then optimize your site with keywords which will then be picked up by search engine crawlers (bots). The bots then index your site so that if someone searches for soap, your site will be included in the search results. Your marketing team will then begin back linking to your site to create popularity, or page authority, as I actually like calling it, where your page becomes popular and linked to enough to be considered an authority on soap. These factors, as well as advertising in many other areas can eventually give you a page one rank.
