    How to know Maximum number of search results for a query?

    We use google to get search results for our queries but if you continuously keep on searching then Google will asks you to enter captcha in order to get web results. Why it is showing like this? Means it treats user is trying to run an automatic code to get many results continuously? or it comes under spam or violation of their rules?
    How it works and what are limitations we have?

    As far as I know this started as a result of people running search scripts. Some of the old keyword tools could put quite a load on Google's servers.
