I want to get first position in google results. I am doing more work, but not getting the position. First result is showing the news website.

Its not easy to get a rank in Google it takes lot of time and effort. You should have a clear idea on Google updates like penguin, panda, hummingbird and the content should be unique . You should provide a quality back links for getting quality back links you have to improve in High PR website by doing 5-10 back links then based on the keyword competition the Google will give you the rank . The Google doesn't give you any rank if you use any black hat seo when it update.

you are completely right, but website content should be unique and relevant.

Having news sites at top, shows that we might targeting some generic term. I would suggest using long tail, less competitive keywords by promoting the website based on such keywords and also try to develop great content and promote it over web. It generate good results in less time.
