Why is it that there is already the White Hat marketing which is considered an ethical SEO but there are people who rather choose to do the Black hat marketing? Why is that so? Is Black hat more advantageous than white hat?

Black hat is not necessarily more advantageous. Black hat marketing is faster than white hat. White hat marketing is better for long term results, but it take much longer before you see results. Because of this, many people resort to the faster gratification of "the dark side."

For most businesses, white hat is usually better because businesses are usually trying to achieve long-term profitability. However, it is ultimately up to you what techniques work for you.

In a nutshell, White hat takes a while before you see results, but it makes sure that you don't do anything that can get you booted off the net by Google. Black Hat, is fast, amazingly fast, but if google catches you.. they can ban you or take your site down.

There are hundreds of things in "white hat" and following all of them is very difficult, I think as well, but you should follow as many as possible for better result.

i read somewhere about grey hat, which you implement both of black and white and blend it into natural result,

Blackhat techniques involve spamming which may give you only short term success.

there is no such thing as white hat seo in my book. all seo is just getting link does not ,atter how you get those links.

True, but wouldn't you agree that there are rules?. And that these rules separate the different flavors of SEO from each other.

No because if you use black hat it won't hurt your site it is a myth because why not use it aginst competitors

yes i agreed, there's must be a rules, if not why people got banned by doing black hat, it is prove, not myth, i think fred just have a lucky in all his website

I agree. Some may be overlooked, or you could get a slap on the wrists from Google, but after that they are going to be watching you and your site. Nowdays Google is all about natural link growth, natural optimization, (If you look at the fact that Google doesn't really look at meta keywords anymore). Everything needs to grow at a steady pace, I know that many sites gain popularity quickly because of new ideas and marketing strategies, but I also know that Google can tell the difference between a naturally popular site and a not so naturally popular site. All their new algorithms are aimed at making sure it stays that way as well, and if your site is caught in the cross fire, there is nothing you can do but work harder to get it back to where it was. IMO its what makes IM and SEO exciting. Constantly vying for the top spot and knowing you are doing everything to make sure your site stays there.

White hat marketing is slow but often times has good results.

It can have the same results as black hat marketing, it just takes longer, and you won't be constantly targeted by search engines.

Thanks for refreshing the tips. Could you please clarify the quoted tip. How often do we have to update the content. Does the term "Regularly" here demands it updated daily?

I doesn't have to be daily. Weekly or biweekly is fine. The point is that if you don't update your site for months at a time, Google will penalize you. However, it is only one of the many metrics Google's algorithms include. So, if your site does not merit constant change, just make sure everything else is right. Make sense?
