can fake using photoshop. Thats all. But if you are getting ads from a company, you can show them directly online. Then can't be fake.

You can create one more account for analytic, like viewer account, so people can log in and check your stats.

I think so compete rank will take over alexa very soon and it is really accurate one and don't just based on any tool bar as Alexa does

Complete rank is not accurate for me

Anup, i am sure one d ay you will get good compete rank but compete consider a lot of factors while ranking a site, so it will surely get attention in coming days.

Alexa rank, however, is still under discussion and maybe majority of IMTs don't bother about it. I have also seen many sites where Google Page Rank is like 4 or 5 but Alexa rank is over 2M. So this is huge difference.

There is no relation with PR and alexa rank. If you build good quality links website having very few no then also your PR will increased. But alexa needs good amount of traffic..

But I think compete ranks also not accurate. Best one Is only Google analytics. So I think Google should start something like alexa based on google analytics.

But what if you have more than 5000 Visitors per day? Google Analytic is not accurate after 5000 Visitors hits your site in a single day.

Both alexa and compete are accurate for sites with 100.000+ visits a month, more visitors you gut more accurate they are.

maybe, but I cannot check it coz I don't get that much visitors per month.

alexa only really matters if your trying to get investment/sell the website/ sell AD space on a monthly rent basis
unless you get in the top 500 sites then its just a war to beat competitors for no reason and as bragging rights
pagerank/SEO/decent original content is what really matters
if you spend ages checking out peoples alexa rank then you might aswell use that time to learn seo and optimize your website

When Alexa rank is 100k or less, it's hard to cheap so it can be more accurate for those bigger sites. 1 million + or Bigger it is easy to manipulate.

I receive 500+ unique visitors each day and my alexa rank is below 80K and its improving!

when i entered in to this website thing ..i was wondering who is this alexa may be a sexy gal running some website
then latter i joined digital forums there in buy and sell thread i saw there was a separate category for below 100,000 alexa ranking website
from that time i always check the alexa ranking before downloading any stuff or joining forums

if we are regular members of IM,WJ,DP like big forums we keep our signature from those forums many webmaster visit our site in their computers sure alexa toolbar will be there..so easly we can bring alexa ranking down by this trick

those who says alexa sucks their website will be having very worst ranking in alexa so they just say alexa sucks
alexa gives you alram warning when ever site goes down ..alexa is important for webmasters atleast for growing webmasters it's very important and can't avoid alexa even if they don't like alexa
