I am thinking of trying a PPC advertising campaign to drive some traffic. This is new ground for me and I would appreacite any advice.

A good website or ebook which would explian the basics, would be ideal or some advice on which PPC company to start with.

it is a good try if you have the money but i would advice you learn how to get free traffic, any ways for company that is good for PPC try google adwords they are the best in PPC

How can I learn the basic of PPC? I just know it acronym is Pay Per Click. But nothing more than that. Does anyone have good site or eBook to know this thing in deep.

PPC ads are more successful when they involve planning. You need to do some thorough research on your target demographic. This will help you learn what type of messaging you’ll need to use in order to get people to click through. You also need to research what keywords will be the most effective for your company. Think of a list of keywords that people will use to locate your business, products or services and write them down. Then use Google’s Keyword Tool to help you learn which of these keywords is the most successful as well as help you learn other keywords that you may have overlooked.

I would advise working with SEO, because PPC traffic is more expensive.
