As in many threads before this one I can see that many have the wrong idea about "Internet Marketing". The hype and all the information going around online give you the wrong impression about this.

Your marketing efforts are not made of "promoting your website or product". The GOAL of your marketing might be...

There's so much to marketing and "promoting your product" is just a TINY part of it. Market research and fulfilling the market's needs does not mean you need to sell your product (that might even solve a huge problem...), but to provide valuable information (preferably for free...), building authority status (not an authority website) and credibility. This is al needed before you can even come close to effectively marketing whatever you offer. The more you give your prospects for free, the more likely they will buy your products after some time, even if it's a high end (expensive) product or service.

Don't think it's all that easy...
And Internet Marketing is NOT generating traffic to your website either.
You need traffic for exposure, you need exposure to be able to do ANY marketing.
