Thread: Pixel based advertising with custom adspace dimensions (dennis' method)

Hello friends,

Today i will show you how to do custom ad spaces using a script similar to milliondollarhomepage. I always thought the million pixel idea was lame but it can be useful when thinking outside of the box.

You will need:
-Gpix
-Mysql server
-phpmyadmin
-common sense

There are many purposes for a custom dimension pixel-based adspace. Maybe you've already got the maximum 3 adsense ads/page on your blog or website and want to expand without paying a middleman, perhaps you don't want to be limited by ad dimension restrictions. Whatever the reason may be, pixel ads can be profitable!

The script we will be using is called "Gpix". It's free for download just use google. Unzip/upload all the files to your webserver and run the setup. When you're all finished login to phpmyadmin. Locate the database Gpix installed to and select the mp_grids table.

We need to change 3 values. First we need "ID" to be set to 0. Next you set the "Width" and "Height" values to your desired dimensions. Save the changes and login to the admin panel via yoursite / gpix / admin. Click "maintain grids" on the left hand sidebar once you have logged in. Then click the grid and modify the rest of the information in the grid to fit your needs.


Make sure you select a payment module and configure the advanced/basic settings too.

To include your new adspace in any blog or website simply include the html code on any page you want the ad to appear on:

Additionally you can put a "buy a lifetime adspace for just $5" by creating a link to yoursite / gpixdir / get_pixels .php . You can adjust what is displayed on this page by modifying the grid description.

How you market this is up to you but i've had some really good results.

Note: each grid is saved in the following format yoursite / gpixdir / grid_id. php (ie grid_4.php)

I use this for displaying ads on my proxified pages since its against most ppc TOS. I've had good results promoting this on fiverr.
