Apologies, this isn't a complaint, just trying to offer helpful feedback.
I'm a programmer, and the best contribution I can make here is to share free webmaster software with the other members.
Regrettably, your signature policy is so restrictive that I'm unable to offer even the most basic description of what I'd like to share for FREE.
If you're gonna be stingy, I guess I'll have to be too. :-) Tiny sig = no free software for your members.
If you should change the policy, I'd be happy to return!

I'm sorry to hear you feel that way. Hmmm, you're on 31 posts at the moment, that means your signature will be small until you reach the next achievement set, and then your signature gets bigger. Seeing that you already are doing so well here, why not stay with us and carry on as you have until your signature increases? We would hate to see you go.

How about this? I could give the free stuff to you in private. You can evaluate it, and if you feel it's useful, you can give it to your members, and get the credit. If you wish, the free software could perhaps become part of a benefit package you use to thank new members for joining etc. Then there is no danger of me pushing anything on anybody etc.
If you don't like the free stuff, then just walk away and forget about it.
I apologize for the outburst.
I'm interested in sharing quality content and software with my fellow webmasters, for free. A lot of work goes in to making these things available.
A lot of forum owners seem kind of determined to obstruct this gift giving in a variety of petty ways, and this extra unnecessary work sometimes makes me cranky. I mean, that is, more cranky.
Please don't take this the wrong way, as I really sincerely mean no offense. But what you have proposed is that I spend more hours sharing more quality content, in order to earn the right to give your members things for free.
We could perhaps speed things up, and you could grab the free stuff now, and be the person giving it away? Just an idea...
