Thread: Tips for starting a BLOG!!!

I am in a mood to write something so I decide to write for newbies if you found something wrong than kindly forgive me.

So... if you are just focusing on making money over the night tan i am sorry this thread is not for you and for all other people Let's start BLOGGING.

For me the most exciting part of the internet is blogging it is actually a beauty of the internet where you can convey your complete thoughts to the audience which want you to listen and this is just awesome.
Let's assume that you have purchased hosting, domain and you have installed a blog script on it and you know that on which topic you are going to write about, but one thing you need to keep in mind that don't select a topic of your blog which you think can attract more visitors it will be useless choose something of your interest the topic on which most of the time you use to think.
Okay so... put the blog on the side and sign up in the relevant forums one or two will work fine make a good reputations on the forum read threads carefully and reply to the threads by giving all the knowledge you have. if you have something in mind just spit it out by posting a thread. This practice will help you in many aspects first, your writing skills will get polish your mind will become broad by reading and you will have the idea how to actually write something effective which people will enjoy.
When you have you hands set on the forums and your mind is full of ideas read the relevant blogs and observe how people have shared their thoughts on the blogs participate in the blogs and share your best and make your presence visible on some blogs.
After that write three or four blog posts and save them on a word file and then read them again after three or four days from an editorial prospective you will feel the need of editing. okay so you need? than why are you looking at me edit them
After editing post them and let people know on the forums and blog that you have launched your own blog, don't forget to mention the link of your blog on the forums. You will start getting visits more than you expectations mean while also mention your link in the different question answer communities time to time they also help a lot to manage some visits which can turn into loyal readers.
Now, you just need to expand your activities and I guess I need to hit the bed

U have explained some good steps, here are mine for a blog newbie.
- first find a suitable domain + hosting
- choose a suitable CMS, prefer wordpress
- find a niche about what you can write more interesting things
- get a suitable plain template

Best tip is...

before you really start to blog..
- learn HTML
- learn a bit onpage optimizing
- blog about things you really like.. not thinks u dont like and do it only for traffic/ money or whatever...

why should some one learn HTML before starting a blog ? can u explain this ?
I mean not very basic HTML what anyone can learn within a day.

I know my first time to blogging without any html knowing... I was lost!

I have friends who have started blogs because I'd explained them how cool to earn online. Almost all of them didn't want take time to learn HTML and jump into blogging. It was not fun for me and it was no fun for me either because they were kept asking about things which i found hard to explain since they have no idea about HTML.

Many people love blogging.Blogging for money and blogging for passion are two different thing, BUT blogging for passion+money can make your blog more precious for readers and for yourself

I think having a general understanding of HTML would be helpful too. Get an HTML for Dummies book and read it. I hate having a library full of Dummies books, but I digress...

I think having good content in mind for the blog is one of the most important first steps.

The backlinks, followers, advanced HTML, can all come later. The hardest part can be just coming up with constant content, I think.

Don't forget readability.

Big blocks of text like the above quote are very hard to read.

Keep your paragraphs short and put linespacing between them.

110% agreed and I would like to add that a little bit knowledge of CSS is also very helpful to customize your theme as per your needs

Select a topic which you are interested in!!
Coz if you go for a topic , which is highly searched.. and you don't have much idea about.. what content to write.... you will definitely be in a big soup!!
So always go for a better niche .. in which you are interested in!!
Also ..build a strong on page optimization!!!

I think blogging is now more than passive income now. People are earning a lot with full time blogging. An example is here : SEOBunny

I can be more than passive income but it is not like a product launch were you launch a product and get one lump sum of money for a blog money keeps coming.

Choosing the niche is the most important part, I believe.

yea, and I think the earning opportunities with blogs will be more than now after few years with the growth of internet

Exactly,, One can do blogging without html.. However learning HTML will give them an extra edge and they can themself do their website seo and form backlinks using anchor text. I will support basic HTML learning .. As it also won't take months.. Basic html can be learnt in a day.

For blog content is king we all need ti remebers this.
