For me WP all the way especially if it is self hosted on good/fast server.
i think WordPress is best for traffic.
Wordpress is batter than blogspot.

WordPress is the best option but if you are just starting without any coding knowledge or CMS knowledge Blogger would be a good place to learn basic things.
According to me, Blogspot is best for driving the traffic to the website.
I wouldn't use Blogspot, you don't own the site and even if you do manage to drive traffic to the blog, you don't own it. Google can close it down without any advance notice. Don't waste your time trying to drive traffic to something you don't actually own.
A self-hosted WordPress site is the best in my opinion. It's easy to get started with and there are many plugins and themes available that one can use to make life easier.
Maybe you can try both since both are free to use? See which one gets you the most traffic with the same marketing.
Wordpress seems better in terms of support and features and comes with plugins.
Speaking from experience, it seems top search engine such as Google picks up Blogspot faster.
There is a feature in Blogspot to allow search engine to index your site (so advisable to use it).
