When I was updating blogs this evening there was an update for the KeywordLuv plugin. I did the update and this warning notice appeared:

WARNING: The KeywordLuv plugin is no longer recommended for use.

What was a great idea in 2008 is no longer effective and may even be harmful in 2014. Your commentators will not receive any benefit. In fact, if most of their links come from comments, they are likely to be penalised by Google. Additionally, if you have many low quality comments on your site, it may even affect your ranking.

It is recommended that you switch the plugin into reverse mode on the Settings page. Comments will remain in the system, but will revert to using the name for comments using the KeywordLuv syntax, which may help.
The update adds a settings screen with a checkbox to activate the 'reverse mode'. This will revert all comments back to the normal state. I had changed the content in the posting instructions text box on my blogs to reflect the change, but when I looked at the blog the posting instructions are gone leaving just the normal comment form for my theme. So, all you need to do after updating the plugin is visit the settings page and check the 'reverse mode' checkbox. You will easily see it because they have used a red text color. Don't forget to click the 'Update Settings' button at the bottom of the screen.
