Thread: My New Company Websites

Hello everyone. I am going to launch my own Internet Marketing Company in a couple of days. The name of the company is Global I.M Providers. Would you guys just browse through and let me know what you think of the design and also overall impression of the site and services.

Overall it is a good clean design. There are a few things that I will comment on though.

The dark blue on black text in the web design and development block is low contrast. Use a lighter blue for better readability.

I would set the background image to centered with no repeat. I view on a large screen and part of the globe shows on the right along with an offset to the ribbon.

I also have the default font size set a bit higher than standard. This causes the buttons on the bottom to overflow the background image and begin to overflow the copyright line. At a minimum I would put the copyright line in a div with a clearboth rule.

I agree with Winkor, and I'm using a monitor 15" and I just really couldn't see the dark blue on the black background. Even the dark green was too tough to read and I thought of just closing it and not strain my eyes. Also the page that opens when directed by your link provided above I just couldn't get back to it when I entered one of your services. I think your Home button is not working as it just didn't do anything. I think your logo should work as a hyperlink to your homepage. Consider it too.

Thank you for your review. I have changed the colors to stand out more. I really thought I put had the background centered in the css, but I realize that I centered the other background by mistake that needed no centering instead of the correct one with the globe. Thanks allot for pointing that out. I also added the clear:both to the copyright div.

These reviews are important because everything looks fine on my laptop so I would not have realized those problems.

I'm sorry I had to strain your eyes. It looked fine on my laptop but I adjusted the colors to make them stand out more. I also added the link to the logo to go back to the globalimproviders home page. The thing is that there are 5 sites total. The entry page which is globalimproviders.com and the seperate sites for the areas of service. The home button goes to the home page on the seperate sites and not the entry page. So I have set the logo to direct to the entry page.

The dark blue is still a bit low contrast on the web development section. #99FFFF works well on a black background.

The clearboth works but could use about 5 -10px padding-top.

I took a sneak peek as well. I went to the graphic design section. (force of habit ) Your testimonial section has the text out of the testimonials section. it's not that bad, just the last letter of most words are on the background instead of inside the testimonials section. (which could be my browser?) You also have textured lines on the header section, but not the navigation or footer, which are all done in the same green, Why not add the same effect to all these areas? it just balances it all out a little better. Having a look at the other sections, I can see that you have done this to all of them, so its cool. Was just a suggestion. The work previews on graphic design aren't showing either, but on the other sections I get a little animation playing.

I really like it , the colors are bold, navigation is easy, layout is clean and easy for me to read.

I hadn't looked there previously. As Phoenyx said the text does overflow the testimonials box slightly, but when I clicked view more the text in the scroller behaved properly. I use FireFox, but I also checked in IE-8. There was a flash before the scroller started with text overflowing, but as soon as the scroller starts the text is right. The scrolling looked a bit jerky in IE.

Thanks guys. In my browsers the testimonials section has no overflow of text in all of my browsers. The sidebar scroller also is fine and the recent works section is showing properly. But I will have to do some more extensive testing on browser compatibility.

I decided to put all of the sites together in one and used the blue theme. Can you guys take another look again and give me your thoughts.

Hi, mate. Your website looks professional and your decision to pick blue as the dominant color is brilliant idea because blue is fresh to the eye.
