Those widgets don't work well like images or links. That's something I know for sure. Also your posts doesn't have enough content I think. People come to personal blogs or small sites to get extra information and personal reviews and experienced. If they want to buy it they would directly goto Amazon. So give visitors what they want. like what do you think about the product and also pros and cons.

Yup it's never too late. Since it's a blog, write your content in first person. That way visitors will feel like its more personal experience.
